Gluten-free goodies
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

An estimated one in 133 Canadians suffers from celiac disease and must avoid all foods that contain gluten. Finding gluten-free foods to eat can be a challenge.

The Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association (CCA) is hosting the largest Gluten-Free Food Fair on June 5 from 1:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Victoria Inn at 1808 Wellington Avenue. This fair is occurring in conjunction with the three day CAA national conference, "Celiacs at the Centre of it All," featuring lectures from tops experts on celiac disease.

People who require a gluten-free diet will be able to sample a variety of products from the top gluten-free food suppliers. Blood screening to identify celiac disease will be available on site, with the results obtained in ten minutes.

Admission is $5, and children 12 and under can get in for free. For more information, go to celiac.mb.ca.
