Show your pride this Canada Day

Here are a few of the many events celebrating our country’s birthday:

Assiniboine Park – Not only is admission to the Assiniboine Park Zoo free on Canada Day, but the park itself will offer games and activities for children, entertainment on the Lyric Theatre stage and a fireworks display courtesy of Winnipeg Men cover models Archangel Fireworks. Admission is free.

The Forks – Starting at noon, The Forks will offer family-friendly activities and entertainment all day long. From 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., you can check out local bands like The Waking Eyes on the Scotiabank Stage, then make sure to stick around for the fireworks show at 11 p.m.. Admission is free!

Osborne Village BIZ Street Festival and Market – Attracting more than 100,000 people every year, the annual festival boasts numerous activities for children, performances by singers and bands of every genre, loads of vendors and a new active living demonstration area including free yoga, hula hoop lessons and more.

If you’re interested in an educational experience this Canada Day, check out the following attractions:

• The Manitoba Museum is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and is free for children under 12 who are wearing red and white.

• The Western Canadian Aviation Museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. and admission is only two dollars.

• From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fort Gibraltar is offering strolling musicians, historic interpretation, voyageur games, canoe rides and more, and admission is free for all visitors.

• Lower Fort Garry is offering free admission to the national historic site between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
